Just to say, really well done to all the lads who played on sat at streatham & croydon. I really enjoyed this game and it had all the qualities of good old fashion rugby. Nice one Southy. Keep it coming!!

Deano.

Anyone needing a laugh, check out Craig Gower's wikipedia page, under 'controversy'. Good to see some rugby players having a bit of fun in this professional age!!

Trev, that was a mistake on the teamsheet. On the list i sent to coach i had you down as unavailable for x1 week. Cheers

 julie  05 February 2010 18:20
people eating teas and as you can imagine for me to take out and carry all these chairs and the tables and do the Bar etc etc is very hard, if any of you are at the club early for games as many of you are, if you wouldnt mind just putting out 4 tables with chairs this would be a huge help, Please note if you are putting chairs away they MUST go in the correct changing room and NOT on the stage or be stacked up in the hall as this helps no one, I know we would all really appreciate this so thanky

 Julie @thinkofyourbarstaff.com  05 February 2010 18:17
Dear all, would just like to say could you please help with putting chairs out and away after yourselves, the the rugby is being shown on the big screen as you know over the coming weeks and this will save 2 bar staff having to go out and do it, which means 2 less barstaff behind the bar to serve you, this would be really appreciated, also I have been asked if tables and chairs could be put out on a saturday so that you can eat your teas in the hall, this is fine but sometimes there are 120 peop

 Simmo England  03 February 2010 23:03
Quite happy with Johno's selection, apart from the front row. Against the Welsh & Lions guys, not sure, every Wasps game I've seen recently, Tim Payne has been taken apart. Maybe should've had Dan Cole at tight head as well. Hmmm...

 wally  03 February 2010 22:49
Looks like the England squad need more saffas

 MCfix  03 February 2010 16:09
Hope to get 2 teams+ out this sat. 3s have home league game v Bec. 4s league away to Guildfordians. Will find 2s a game if enough players available. Contact your captains if available.

 voyeur  03 February 2010 15:26
Looks like Jonno may actually try to play some rugby:
England: D Armitage (London Irish); M Cueto (Sale Sharks), M Tait (Sale Sharks), R Flutey (Brive), U Monye (Harlequins); J Wilkinson (Toulon), D Care (Harlequins); T Payne (Wasps), D Hartley (Northampton), D Wilson (Bath), S Shaw (Wasps), S Borthwick (Saracens, capt), J Haskell (Stade Francais), L Moody (Leicester), N Easter (Harlequins).
Replacements: S Thompson (Brive), D Cole (Leicester), L Deacon (Leicester), S Armitage (London Irish),

On a serious note, the Captains have a tough enough job organising their teams, so it is unfair to them if you cry off late. This week 7 cryoffs on sat morning was a disgrace. You know who you are. Think of your team mates that you are letting down before you make that call next time.

Same applies for the 4s. If you cried off on sat, see what you missed. 4 teams needed again this sat, so all make the effort to get your boots on & roll about in the mud. Followed by NEW PLAYERS NIGHT, not to be missed.

 Dean. Justsayit.com  25 January 2010 06:50
Blinding effort all round by my team mates on sat. Playing rugby with your pals and winning well, with beers thrown in afters!! That what Saturday rugby's all about. Well done chaps!! Plenty more to come.

 MC 1.00pm is a good choice.  23 January 2010 10:31
1.00pm is a good choice. It gives you time for a couple of pints & a fag before ko. Its a long walk to the pitch so no warem up needed.

Mike, if I get time from chasing Indians, I can do a good deal on 3000m2 of carpet tiles. I assume for £90,000+ your place must be huge. If not, the carpet place at Wallington Green do good deals to supply & fit carpet. Is it worth it though if its going to be re-posessed?

 C.L.O.B fixture  19 January 2010 19:25
Anyone at a loose end tomorrow night please feel free to support Gavin Welsh, Ollie Beales, Sam Naylor and Warren Fourie who will all be flying the clubs colours whilst representing Combined London Old Boys against RICS at Richmond RFC. Kick off is at 19:30 and it would be good to see a few friendly faces inthe stand.
RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) are expected to line up with many players from National 2 and 3 and thus will provide a stern test.

A reminder that training tonight will be at Woodcote High School at 7.30pm prompt.

 Steve P Thoughtsfromyesterday'sgame  17 January 2010 21:00
After my 2nd loss from Teddington RFC this season and the clubs 4th. I find myself asking what is the difference between our clubs, when so well matched in league status across all teams.

The only thing that I can see is commitment to training and individual team spirit in each team from 1's to 3's. It is obvious to me that they all train and play as teams within a club.

 Steve P Thoughtsfromyesterday'sgame  17 January 2010 20:59
Of course our club has a different make up and geographical pull of players but I am with the coaches and many other players when thinking that we can develop better and more successful teams through a reapplication of individual’s commitment to training. This will in everyway enhance each player and channel our obvious individual talents into well honed teams.

So come on lets all try to contact just one other player and get them along to training this week so Sat can bring results for all

 MC Chair @somerugby@last.com  17 January 2010 18:46

In other words, long walk, short pier, do one!

No rugby lately, missed a beer with your mates,? lets all make it to the club this sat evening for the race night. The more there, the better for all.

 Pembers neil@oldwalcountians.co.uk  11 January 2010 14:19
NOTE TO ALL.

Barring a major dump of the white stuff and regardless of matches being played or not, the Alternative Race Night will still be going ahead on saturday. 7.30pm for races at 8pm.

Please all make every effort to support your club by spending a few quid and enjoying a fun evening.

CONTACT ME TO SPONSOR A HORSE ASAP.

 Deano  11 January 2010 13:04
Sorry MC,
lets hope games are on for this week hey..

 Directions to Woodcote  11 January 2010 13:01
From the club go right down the hill, then right at the bottom continue straight towards Purley. When you reach the next roundabout go right and continue straight for about 800m until you get to Meadow Rise on the right hand side (be careful not to take Meadow Hill (one before Meadow Rise) as the entrance will be shut).

 Coach  11 January 2010 07:28
Keep an eye on the forum today training may be on tonight trying to find a venue................ indoors if possible will know more later.

 MC  10 January 2010 17:29
Deano, I was looking for you in the Wasps game, where were you? Thought you were desperate to play. That was only game in England, so I might let Pat off. Looking b etter for next week.

 Hugh G Buns Hugh@Ogle.com  08 January 2010 10:20
Would not mind having a go at building our favourite bar manager Ju, but fear there is not enough of the white stuff to complete the top half!

 Julie @letsavasnowballfight.com  07 January 2010 19:28
Hi All, just to let you know I will be opening the Bar on Saturday from 12pm till 4pm. Sunday 12pm till 3pm.  gavin  07 January 2010 18:28
Captain rod has said there is a team meting at the club at 7:30 and to move on to a curry from there....

 Kemlo  07 January 2010 16:52
Cheers for that Growler by the way.

Kemlo Trains run in the Alps OK but not UK  07 January 2010 16:51
Well with training off unless the roads have improved in that area I might have to bail.

 Growls  07 January 2010 16:33
Just looking at the website, the service seems rather delayed. There is also the possibility that the trains will finish early tonight - they stopped at about eight yesterday.

Kemlo agree with nails  07 January 2010 16:18
Yes, would be appreciated. Also, does anyone know if trains are running to Carshalton currently?

 Nails Training  07 January 2010 15:15
Need to know about timing of any training or curry tonight. Some of us travel from a long way so don't want to do it for nothing.

 MCfix @usecommonsense.com  07 January 2010 14:58
I think that we can safely assume all games are off, unless I can get an away game in S. France or Italy

 Deano  07 January 2010 12:30
B*ll*cks in that case.. well Jimbo stick me down for the next match and anyone is welcome to join me running tom, sun, tue - starting at 7pm - 8 miles, 40lb pack. Good fitness/stamina training.

I wanna play rugby..anyone know of games going??

 clari fication@pedant.com  07 January 2010 12:09
Is the 3's game still on as that was an away fixture?

Is that official confirmation of home games being cancelled?

 MCfix  07 January 2010 11:06
I tried to get Pat to sweep the pitch & mark the lines in blue for sat, but she said F*** Off. The undersoil heating is not working either. So I've had to cancel rugby for this sat. All pitches + Astro 6" under snow & ice, so I think training might be a problem. Public circuit training at Westcroft, starts 7.10pm for an hour, then across the road for a curry ,is my suggestion.

 Dean  07 January 2010 09:50
Three things;

1.Training - is it on tonight??
2.Game vs Chobham are they gonna turn up??
3.is game on??

 MCfix @Daveforprop.com  05 January 2010 15:15
Only cup game off at present. 2 other games still on, until further notice. I think its going to be sunny & 70F by sat. Put off Jan sales shopping until Sunday.

 Dave @notshopingagainonasaturday?.co.uk  05 January 2010 13:32
MC is that all games cancelled?

 MCfix @itneverrainsbutsnows.com  05 January 2010 13:03
This sats cup game is postponed, even if pitches are fit [unlikely]. Raynes Park have 2 league games to catch up with from before Christmas. No revised date available at present.

 Dave @yourno8isavailable.co.uk  04 January 2010 14:54
Hi Bruce Happy New Year, put me down for a game.

 Unreal  04 January 2010 12:52

 MCfix @happynewyear.com  31 December 2009 11:56
It appears that there is no demand for any games this sat, so let the captains know your availability for next weeks friendlies.

 AdamWright Iwouldloveagame.com  29 December 2009 22:43

POST XMAS BEERS

Need to get away from the family? Regretting taking those extra few days off of work?

Why not come along for a few drinkies on Tuesday 29th Dec and forget all your troubles? Meeting at 12 noon in the Old Bank, Sutton and then seeing where the day/night takes us. If you can't be there that early but still want to join in just call me for the present location.

I am crying off playing on the Boxing Day fixture because I had a bike crash last Wednesday and I won't recover in time. I will be there just to drink the port, eat the mince pies, and to support the club.

 Snow Victim Wasteourmoney.com  22 December 2009 10:37
I drove into the car park at the clubhouse yesterday and disappeared down a huge car trap full of snow!

Can Godfrey invest another 6 grand with our upstanding and honest neighbours and get them to throw some more pebbles and mud in it??? (and buy or nick me a new car?).

 Dave @justbeingnosy.co.uk  22 December 2009 09:00
How did the 4ths get on, on saturday? and are we still playing a game on Boxing day? Merry Christmas to you all Dave,Jane,George and Alfie

 Pembers countrymanshangover.com  15 December 2009 11:20
Bob. It would seem that the Countrymans lunch worked for Bruce & Simmo. Must have been the lack of sprouts! Besides, O'Neills was messy for the rest of us, you should have left your drinking boots on!

 Deano Getting it Done.com  14 December 2009 22:50

Selling my missus Red Honda Civic 1.5LSI 3 door hatchback. Car has done around 80 000 miles engine and mechanics 100% running order. 2 smallish dents on roof area and some minor scratches. Only reason for selling is she wanted a 5 door hatch as she struggles putting the baby in the back of the 3 door. Only £350 it is a 1995 N reg tax & MOT until April 2010, alloy wheels. call me on 07977586456 if interested.
