Training at Woodcote is on again tonight for those who wish to improve their running stamina. 7.30pm start. You may have to climb through the school fence to gain entry though. Simon is leading the session.

 Ticket Master  23 July 2010 17:12
All gone thanks to the OWRFC Forum and the 'Return Of The Los Palmas 7' (well, the Los Palmas 4 - Aitor, his wife and their chums).

Adios!

 Ticket Master jerry.warwick@atkinsglobal.com  23 July 2010 15:52
Now only 2 tickets left!

Why not treat your lady - show her that 'It Must Be Love’ wear your ‘Baggy Trousers’ (don't worry, you won't be an 'Embarrassment') take her to the 'House of Fun' and you may bump into 'Un Paso Adelante' (well, Aitor and his missus) 'regrettably you will not be 'Driving in my Car'.

Oh dear - I have already got my coat...............

 NotBobEither  13 July 2010 12:04
Fixtures published seem to be correct, though the summary on the home page appears to miss the fixture on Dec 11 v Croydon.
Also doesn't have the Dec 25(hope that's a misprint) v Warlingham.

The Old Emanuel fixture is a friendly and therefore doesn't have a return fixture (just in case it was causing confusion...)

 NotBob  13 July 2010 11:48
Fixtures, can you point out which teams we are only playing once?

 walcountians @Golf day  13 July 2010 10:14

 Steve Paddock @Fitness Trainingh  07 July 2010 23:58
All, If people want to meet saturday morning to run together to get the coach's extra workout in, I propose doing it collectively on the Woodcote High School track. Before scaling/plumbing the heights/depths of the rugby world I spent years training for running so can put together a session for all players to feed off each other to complete the session well and with personal goals to attain which are relevant to their position on the field and fitness. 1030 at the school. So did Sarah tell him he was getting some pussy tonight, and then turn up with the cat?.

 Simmo Hirdy's cat  07 July 2010 10:40
No, Mr Hird is particularly partial to a sandwich, so that's probably the likelier option.

Dear ??, you're mistaken, there is indeed something better than a nice pussy to play with. And that's three pussies to play with...

 NoWay @pussy.com  07 July 2010 09:16
You were selling me the idea until you told me a potential pet would be directly related to the Hird family!.

Knowing Gary, he has already had Tandoori Kitten washed down with a few Cobra's.

Nothing better than a nice pussy to play with.

 Simmo Kittens  06 July 2010 16:49

Wazza your team does sound like theone to be in.

 Wazza  29 June 2010 13:37
Kemlo

1) Touch rugby only it was going to be contact 7's but decided against it.

2) A few of us ie: myself, Mocky,Gav, Bealsey and others were asked to make up a team each. The team is only allowed two 1st team players 1 forward & 1 back and the rest of the team is made up of 2nd,3rd and 4th teamers. We are advertising on the forum because not many people have responded to Pember's request to contact him if keen.

 Kemlo Confused.com  29 June 2010 12:53
Right, two questions:

1) Is this Sunday 7s, touch, or both?
2) If players are meant to be fairly distributed around each team why are Mocky, Bealsey and Warren blatantly advertising on the forum?

Thanks!

Interesting to see in Rugby World that Teddington created a "66" club whereby the squad aimed to do 3 fitness every week for 22 weeks from January to support their successful push for Junior Vase at Twickers and Surrey 1. Over 20 members of their squad met this target.

 Observer  26 May 2010 10:47
Look how "rounded" Pembers became once married. Bramble's well on the way. Now the pace has gone,2nd row next season Mike?

 kickstart callaplumberruss.com  26 May 2010 10:16
Do you think that getting married on saturday will help Bramble become a more rounded individual or will it just boost his confidence further?

Garden tap - sorry

 Russell Yeo russellyeo@hotmail.co.uk  25 May 2010 12:19
Help needed.

Had a bit of a disaster at home with an external (garden) tape which has sprung a leak in the wall and flooded inside the wall it's mounted on (bathroom wall) and into the ground a bit too.

Need someone who can assess (and repair?) the damage to the wall (and foundations?), repair the tap pipe (shielding?) and retile the bathroom.

Any ideas? Thanks

As the summer is upon us I thought I'd take this opportunity to beg for work again.
If anyone knows of anything going (literally... anything) for over the summer (preferably Monday-Friday so I can lend a hand behind the bar every now and again!) please let me know on the e-mail address above.
Cheers

Nat has been impressed by the response so far, but still not too late to apply for a prestigious committee post. Free beer all year + expenses & 2nd home allowance. See you all on friday, then on to Sutton, where Mike is buying beers all round. [but only until 2.00am]

 Thank God @I'm in an Internet Cafe.com  17 May 2010 16:00
So EasyInternet Cafe is standing for which post MC?

 MC @PCworld.com  17 May 2010 15:54
Too late, Chief has traced your posting, & you're proposed. Older members may also stand, along with any other minority group.

 Thank God @I'm Too Old.com  17 May 2010 15:32
MC,
And there I was about to apply and then you Aged me out of it.

PS have you not heard of "The Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006"

 MCchair handsup.com  17 May 2010 15:25
Can members please let Natalie know which committee position you wish to stand for, before AGM this friday. Non-attendees may get voted into a role in their absence, be warned!
We urgently need new members on the committee, especially younger ones, ie under 40. for the long term good of the Club.

 MC  17 May 2010 14:04
I see that Teddington won the Junior Vase final. Not a bad season for them this year. No reason why we can't do the same next year.

 Netball-Lover OWRFC.com  17 May 2010 09:47

 MC  14 May 2010 11:40
Don't worry, an application is in hand.
Bungholio, when did anyone help the committee?

The Reporter OWRFC's name up in lights  14 May 2010 11:21
At a Surrey Rugby dinner last night, RFU President John Owen praised Old Walcountians for giving him the best night of his tenure as president.

Have we put in any applications for grants with the RFU recently? Think we should do it quickly!

 Bungholio TheTruth.com  14 May 2010 09:13

The paradoxical nature of the caterer sent me into a state of deep contemplation on Friday night (whilst I drowned in red wine).

I just wouldn't have thought that a guy who was perfectly willing to stop feeding a very large group of very drunk rugby players would be the sort of person who was concerned about a bit of harmless bread. You'd think by that point there'd be other things on his mind.

Fascinating.

 Chief  10 May 2010 20:15
Thanks Charlie for a great night - can't recall a lot of it but some highlights were the return of the mighty Chabuli to the club, a lager and black shampoo (F&J South beware) and one helluva lot of emotional outbursts, not all from me.

By the way, I seem to have "lost" my Chairmans award - can I have it back, Mrs Chief doesn't believe I could have possibly won anything other than the loadest, most uncouth and drunkest man at 3:30am award...

p.s. I've managed to find the caterer's sense of humour - apparently left in the car park at about 5pm on Friday. Perhaps Rob could deliver it back to him?

 Simmo Club Dinner  10 May 2010 08:04
Thanks to Charlie for a top night, and to bar staff for keeping it coming until the early hours.

Must say that to be voted player of the year by your mates, and then to get drunk with them, is tough to beat. Both honoured and delighted.

Must be getting old, as the hangover lasted until late Saturday evening...

Forget the tie, jacket and glasses..........
Any sign of my liver, memory, plot or wallet contents?

Thanks for a great night Charlie - top stuff.

It's not like I had anything I needed to get done on Saturday anyway!

Roll on summer training (did I really say that?)

It should have read - left at the club last night, please contact Julie for safe return.

Great night could only be that with great people.
PS - Yes Gavin - that was the President of the RFU

Big hand to Charlie for getting President of RFU as guest speaker. Top bloke, returned to his hotel at 3.00am. Loved OWRFC, thats why we play rugby.

Surely Brambles main shute will fail late on and the reserve shute will need to be immediately deployed?

What's that I hear from the audience, his main shute failed due to the proliferation of food products (nuts & eggs to the laymen) within the envelope?

ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i would love to see bramble have a skydive!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Cookie. I believe that, for a nominal fee, Charlie could sift through his records and find your number.

NB. Everyone, remember your £5 note!!!

 Sweedo to Statto  06 May 2010 11:05
I think you will find it's technically 151 caps, as I managed approximately 90 seconds of the game against Vigo. I am willing to settle at a half cap though

 safariman @suityou.com  05 May 2010 23:07
What time do we have to vacate the bar - do we have 4.3 days for Pembers to skull his cider?

 Black Rat  05 May 2010 22:33
To celebrate a successful year as Club Captain, I put forward the notion that Mr. Pemberton should neck a pint of cider for the evening entertainment.
All in favour?

Missing 3rd XV result (win against Old Paulines in december) found on Surrey website means that they are now the most succesful side in the club.
