This year we have decided given our location so close to the Headley Court armed forces rehabilitation complex, the dinner will continue to be a ‘break even’ event for the club but any additional profits from the ‘Sign a Fiver’ competition and raffle will be sent through to the ‘Help For Heroes’ charity.

To avoid any further questions - tomorrows 2nd XV game against Weybridge Vandals is on unless you are advised otherwise. They are inspecting the pitch tomorrow morning and letting us know. See you there!

Following on from Chairmans Earlier message, the 2ndXV game is away at Weybridge Vandals (Walton on Thames) and not at Old Haileyburians as per the Wally Weekly. All players who are available/needed will have been contacted by the end of tonight. Cheers

There will be training for the 1's on Saturday, time will be sorted out at training tonight, Steve.

 keentostayup  02 February 2012 12:20
Anyone able to confirm if there is 1st team training on Saturday. If so what time?

 Pembers  02 February 2012 12:13
Both the 2s and 3s are short this week (6Nations strikes again!! Damn international rugby) so, given that the 3s have no oppo and the 2s have a league fixture, we will combine for that game.

 MCfix  01 February 2012 16:07
Sutton Epsom cried off, but we will find a replacement friendly game. 1s game also off due to London S A folding. 1s having a rest this week, but will be a game arranged for following week. Never a moments rest doing fixtures!

 largelymonk  01 February 2012 16:02
Southy, do we have a game Saturday The oppo are already listed as crying off on the results page?

To support what Steve Cowlin has said - just 5 league games left for the firsts, Wimbledonians at home on the 18th and CLL at home on the 24th March being the big ones. Home to Croydon on the 14th April and two away games to Old Whits and Exiles complete the season. We all want to stay up in Surrey 1.
Lets all support them over these 5 games - come on the Counts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Dean@ CantRunSideways  27 January 2012 17:34
Bruce, thanks!! and would love to play but after just a touch competition in the summer (winning Try!) my groin was gone for a month, plus i ran 19 miles this morning. Sorry

 Chair Man  27 January 2012 13:04
Sad news about London South Africa folding. Unfortunately, this drags us right into the mire of the relegation zone. Points earned and scored against LSA have been removed from the league table. We cannot assume that just one side will be relegated. We must strive to win all of our remaining games which, given recent performances, is achievable. It's time for our First team squad to believe in themselves again and lay it on the line. C'mon the Counts!

 southy  27 January 2012 12:53
Dean,
more than happy to donate,...are you available this weekend, I am short.

General plea to players, if you have not had a call to play then please contact Brambles or myself. We need all three teams out this weekend.

 Cowlin  27 January 2012 10:53
London South Africa have folded and withdrawn from the league.

I'm assuming that it remains only 1 team goes down so we have a massive couple of games coming up against Cranleigh and Wimbledonians. If we win these 2 games we have a good chance of ending up mid table with VERY winnable HOME games against CL London and Croydon to come, not to mention the game against rivals Old Whits!

Come on the lads!

Hello I have finally given in to the voices and taken up the challenge of a marathon for London 2012. It's my first one and I'll be running for the Meningitis Trust, a charity very close to my heart. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Just to make it a little more interesting I'm going for sub 3 hours. If I do manage it I'm asking those that can to donate an additional amount (perhaps 10% of their original donation?) Many Thanks Dean0 http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/DeanCharnock

Antony Worrall Thompson stole some cheddar? How dairy! I went to see Ready Steady Cook the other day. It was fantastic. Antony Worrall Thompson absolutely stole the show. Why did the chicken cross the road? Because it was stuffed up Worrall Thompson's jacket. Antony Worrall Thompson has been caught shoplifting milk, yeast and flour from his local Tesco. He's clearly run out of dough. There's no such thing as a free lunch. Unless you're using the Worrall Thomps

Is anyone passing by Tooting this saturday or any rail station on the way to the pitch. It would be great if someone can meet Emanuele from a station and give him a lift to the home ground. Please send me a message on 07540585198 x thanks

 MC  07 December 2011 09:01
I believe that the thong has joined the mankini in the high security bio hazard waste container.

 Bash @repressedtrauma  06 December 2011 14:16
I believe the thong in question was impounded as evidence, but will be making an appearance in the upcoming BBC Docu-drama 'The Notorious Mr. Back'

Missing:- One Thong Description:- Red, smells of a monkey, some elastic damage caused by a South Other:- Please help, this thong spawned several children during the Island Tour, and they're pining for their thong dad!

 Pembers  05 December 2011 08:26
I left my pants in the changing room. If you happen to see a small enclave of migrants camping under them, please let me know ( and don your bio-hazard suit!)

 Simmo Boots  05 December 2011 08:18
Found an extra pair of boots in my bag, so I must have your ones, Tony.

Simmo

 Barbraian  04 December 2011 09:32
Tony, the boots you picked up are mine but I came back without any boots at all so someone else still has yours. Morgan

 crashtest @canIhavemybootsback.com  04 December 2011 09:28
Calling 3rds who played at Streatham & Croydon.

I was last out of the changing room and picked up a pair of Mitre boots that had been left behind. Unfortunately they were not mine.

Could you please check yours and let me know if you have my Mitre boots. The ones I picked up have green on the sole and laces, mine are just black & white.

If you find them, just let me know on the forum or txt me at 07796308538 and I can get them back at either the countrymans lunch or before the game

 Andy Gill andrewsgill@hotmail.co.uk  02 December 2011 11:35

 Bungholio TheTruth.com  02 December 2011 08:52
Bob, you are no f'kin use to anyone for anything. Stop pestering this club for a game!

 MC  01 December 2011 22:55
I played winger in a house game in 1973........any use to you? I may have lost some pace since.

 southy  01 December 2011 22:46
I need two backs/wingers please for this weekend

Spectators, please note that the cup game v Met Police ko's at 2.00pm. This allows for extra time, if required, before it gets dark.

New week this week Chaps. The Skippers and Coach have had it out and are looking to the future and to building three competitive teams with great team spirit. Lets draw a line under it and pull together. No more bitching or whining. The first step is to ALL make ourselves available this week. Don't wait for a captain to call you, drop him a text NOW.

 2nds Player  20 November 2011 20:08
It was a good win on Saturday for the 2s and a really great team spirit - a typical OWs atmosphere. Good game, good mates and a decent result. I don't know the ins and outs of it, but the problem seems to be a lack of available 1st team players - my spies tell me that there's also been some very un-Walcountians behaviour from one or two of the elder statesmen in the team, which is unlikely to encourage people to play up.

 observer4  19 November 2011 10:50
3rds is not a closed shop. If you are a youngster or retired you will almost always get a chance to play. Once the younger talent has matured then they should progress to a higher level (2nds and 1sts).

 Observer3 cont...  18 November 2011 19:42
It would be great if we had five or six XV's and then we could have teams dedicated to social/pastoral rugby but the hard fact is that we don't. We ALL need to give our bit to the club via commitment and willingness to play wherever we are put. That will build team spirit across the club quicker than anything else. All players should bear this in mind.

 Observer3  18 November 2011 19:34
But where would those players play - the 3rds (closed shop)? Unlikely. Perhaps the 4ths then? What a great idea. A first team with no supporting team below them as the 3rds players only want to play there. A fabulous recipe for disaster. Surrey 4 maybe? But it's OK, we have a really good 3rd team though. All players need to commit to playing but this is a problem endemic across all clubs. We run the risk of screwing our 1st XV if we cant keep a 2nd XV going out regularly.

 Observer2 @concernedovercommitment  18 November 2011 16:56
Some players are retired and just happy to get a run out for a chilled afternoon. Thats what 3rds is about (not to mention blooding new talent), sure it can get competitive, however no where near as serious as 1st and 2nd team games. If you can't commit you should not be playing for the 1st and 2nd team.

 Observer  18 November 2011 16:29
Perhaps if all players realised that we are in fact, a club and consequently, that means you play for whichever club team you are put in and do not expect to be in a certain team week after week, we'd probably be in a better place. Surely the natural flow of players is Firsts then Seconds, then Thirds and then Fourths. It is no use saying that I am a 1s/2s/3s player within the confines of a club like ours. We should be playing for the club first and then the team we're in. Too much to ask?

 Teamsheet sdfgr@yahoo.com  18 November 2011 15:49
I think the teamsheet is a bit out dated......
Whats the deal with this wekends games?

 3s-supporter @man-up.com  18 November 2011 13:52
Mr Fix, as at last night the threes had a full team, so suggest regular players from 1s & 2's need to look to themselves to answer your question?

Throwing this game against Old Paulines, that we would have expected to win, really puts at risk our chances of winning the competition this year.

Couldn't agree more re your comments on committment.

 southy  18 November 2011 11:25
the 3,s game has been cancelled as today. I have had to supply Four (4) players on a Friday morning up the club. Not happy

 Jeff  18 November 2011 11:19
MCfix - which game has been cancelled?

 MCfix peed off @bigtime  18 November 2011 10:49
Come on boys... whats going on? Yet again I've just had to cry off a game at last minute. Only 2 teams out this week. Are we wasting our time trying to run a rugby club if no one wants to play. Lets have some commitment.

 Havanavahavah @oyvay.com  18 November 2011 10:30
Dear Countryman's Virgin - if you aren't ready now, 3 weeks is not enough preparation time

 Virgin @countryman.com  18 November 2011 10:21
Any special preparations needed to become a countryman?

 Simmo Countryman's  18 November 2011 08:07
Only 3 weeks to go now, getting quite revved up about the Countryman's...

 MC  17 November 2011 17:08
I don't know why I'm going. I can never remember much about it the next day, just a drunken blur & sore head.

 cantwait  17 November 2011 15:58
It's the Countrymans lunch in a few weeks. I'm so happy

 MC  16 November 2011 15:25
We sent an enquiry about him & best wishes to Reeds on Monday, but no reply yet.

 Voyeur Watch @Concerned.com  16 November 2011 13:47
Innocent Bystander must be some form of sicko voyeur, as I have yet to meet any bystander at the mighty Counts who could even vaguely be considered "Innocent".

 Innocent bystander  16 November 2011 12:54
Any news on how the lad is who got carted off in the ambulance on Saturday?

 Pembers  16 November 2011 11:02
Surely, there should be a spread on the distance from the club that the "Lucky" cab firm that takes him is.....

 Havanavahavah oyvay.com  16 November 2011 08:30
As opposed tot he usual boring Countrymans lunch? I will be running a book on how many cabs I need to call before one will take Mr Spoors hiome this year.

 MC  15 November 2011 11:17
No, I think there was a comma missing. Fat, bastards etc. Bruce & Reesy are the bastards, the font row fat.

 Pembers  15 November 2011 09:03
Just realised that you called Bruce and Reesy fat! Could be an ineresting Countrymans Lunch.....

 Pembers  15 November 2011 09:02
Adam, is that the recipe for a 3rd team or a Tour?

 Havanavahavah @oyvay.com  14 November 2011 09:26
A tried and tested combination of fat bastards and whipper snappers

 MC  14 November 2011 09:19
The secret is having a few youngsters in the backs that do all the running about. You will find that all Dave Rees tries have averaged a carry of 1 metre. Connor however averages 50m.

 teamtofollow @pleasetellme  13 November 2011 17:10
Can someone please tell me how the 3rds keep winning being up a division from last year? Their side is full of old fat geezers.

 Pembers  11 November 2011 15:35
Prepare for a new leading try scorer in the two's tomorrow.......!

 southy  10 November 2011 13:58
Worms, connor has done some ligaments in his ankle. out for 2-3 weeks. Time enough to catch him up in the try scoring dept.

 voyeur  09 November 2011 20:26
Best buff our helmets and nail down anything that moves.....

 Coach juniorvase.com  09 November 2011 19:02
Next round of the cup we have drawn Met Police at home........................

 Stoney  08 November 2011 23:24
Are you sure the two mentions by Spud in the report weren't referring to Pete Cowlin???

 Worms  08 November 2011 11:10
Anyone know more about Connor's ankle injury?

 Cowlin  07 November 2011 17:10
2 mentions last week...nearly died of shock!

 MC  07 November 2011 11:04
Spud, if you haven't mentioned Steve Cowling in it you will never hear the end of it!

 meat  07 November 2011 10:08
whats the crack for tour?

 Spud mypressreportsrealsofiction.com  06 November 2011 18:47
Guys

My first novel, "Kingdom Come", has just been published. Anyone interested in buying a copy can order one either through the publisher's website (www.authorhouse.com) or online through Waterstones, Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

do the threes have a game on saturday

 voyeur  03 November 2011 12:21
Tower hamlets would have been better than that performance.

 largelymonk geezer  02 November 2011 22:01
Neil, re your comments in Wally Weakly about the first team, was Purley the more positive manor you had in mind or was it Chipstead?

 southy  01 November 2011 12:53
Calling all three's players....calling all three's players...

if you have played for the three's, liked to have played for the three's, or support the three's, you are invited to a post match drink after the game on Saturday. Who knows where it may end up.....

 southy  01 November 2011 11:41
Another win for the three's....

scorers were

Rees 5
Connor 10
lewis 10
vince 5
mick 6

Warren Chapman Touch Rugby  31 October 2011 17:12
Not sure what the situation was last Monday? Touch is every Monday 7:30pm, I can't guarantee how many pitch up ring your mates get them down. Wazza

 Touch rugby?  31 October 2011 16:31
Is Touch on tonight, or is it the same situation as last Monday?

 Simmo Fantasy Rugby  26 October 2011 20:33
Well, the winner of the ESPN Fantasy Rugby OWRFC mini-league for the RWC is....Tom Naylor. Well done, mate. Full standings:

1st Tom Naylor, 2nd Stu Gambel, 3rd Simmo, 4th Bash, 5th David Muwonge, 6th Ben McDaniel, 7th Meat Prodding, 8th Matthew Fleury.

 ThisIsSparta  26 October 2011 19:51
That's why the gods gave him a spare!

 largelymonk  26 October 2011 17:25
Seems Edward's ankle was broken in the trashing of S&E. In retrospect , my decison to give him a packet of crisps and the remote control and then go out on the lash seems like poor parenting but as I told him when he was moaning about the pain, what would the Spartans have said?

 Pembers pullyourfingersout.com  25 October 2011 12:32
Calling all players. Where are you? Please respond to or contact a Captain with your availability ASAP. See contacts page.
